No Longer Your Jester
This project features a short illustrated mini magazine focused on the marginalized group of people who have Dwarfism. My efforts went into doing research on how the historical placement of Little People in society (typically as jesters or as some form of entertainment) has impacted the modern day stereotypes of dwarfism. The mini magazine also looks at how the dwarfism community is attempting to change societal perception of Little people and move away from the stereotypical associations of comedy and amusement.
The Process.
A big part of this project was research. I wanted to make sure my information was as accurate as possible to guide my corresponding illustration. Research included secondary research as well as making presentations to summarize what I learned, followed by multiple ideation sketches for my illustration. I used both Procreate and Photoshop to create my illustration.
